Downstream Encryption Failure
Downstream Encryption Failure
Introduction
Users receiving the message Downstream Encryption Failure indicates that the master panel on the RS-485 loop is communicating on a new encryption key with Velocity Sever but one or more downstream controllers in the RS-485 loop have not been power cycled to receive the new encryption key.
Solution
Turn on switch 1 on switch bank 2 on the affected downstream controller.
Power cycle the affected downstream controller.
It is not necessary to turn off switch 1 on switch bank 2 on your downstream controllers. You only need to turn off this switch on the master controller to preserve encryption between the master panel and the Velocity Server.
