Installation and Configuration
Prerequisites
Ensure that the following prerequisites are met before beginning the installation:
Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 or higher PC running Lenel’s OnGuard software suite, version 6.5 or 6.6
Intel IPP5.1 installer file (IPP5.1.1installer.zip) obtained from 3VR Technical Support
Access to OnGuard documentation
6.6 3VR Accessory Add-on.msi or 6.5 3VR Accessory Add-on.msi (depending on the OnGuard software version)
Access to an NTP server to synchronize the 3VR SmartRecorder’s time settings with those of the OnGuard system
Installing Intel Performance Primitives
The following steps should be performed on both OnGuard client and server installs:
Extract IPP5.1.1installer.zip.
Open the underlying folder and double-click setup.exe. The Intel IPP 5.1 will install automatically.
Installing Accessory Add-On
Double-click 6.x 3VR Accessory Add-On.msi to start the install.
You will see a warning message that says “The runtime installation of Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0 and Install IPP 5.1.1 are prerequisite to this add-on. Exit the add-on installation if the prerequisite has not been met”. Click OK.
Click Install
A SQL Server Login dialog box will appear. Enter the Lenel SQL server login ID and password and click OK.Click Finish to complete the install.
Creating an OnGuard User Account
Launch 3VR SystemManager.
Click the Manage Users tab.
Click the New button to create a new user account.
In the Edit User dialog, modify the following fields:
Enter a user name for the account, for example onguarduser.
Enter and re-enter the password.
Set the Role to Integrator.
Set the Auto Sign Out property to Never.
If you are working on a 3VR system connected to an Enterprise Appliance, check the box next to the Enterprise under Authorized Regions and Servers.
Click Save to create the new account.
Setting the SmartRecorder NTP Server
In System Manager, click the Configure tab and select the name of the system in the left-hand panel. The system settings will populate on the right side.
Click Common Operations.
Click Date and Time Settings.
Select Automatically set time radio button from a remote server.
Enter the NTP Server address. This should be the same NTP server used to set time on the OnGuard machines.
Click Test Connection and verify that the connection is successful.
Click Save.
In the resulting dialog, click OK to confirm.
Close System Manager.
Adding a Recorder to OnGuard
In this step, you will create a new OnGuard video recorder of the type “3VR SmartRecorder”. This will allow you to view footage from the 3VR SmartRecorder in the OnGuard VideoViewer application. For additional configuration options, please consult the OnGuard documentation.
