Accessing 3VR Realtime Dashboard

The3VR Realtime Dashboard runs as a Windows Service on a local port. The Realtime dashboard communicates over default port 9999. To access the Realtime Dashboard:

  1. Open your Browser and enter http:// <IP Address>:<Port Number>. The Login screen displays.
  2. Enter the Username: admin; Password: admin and click Login.
    Note

    The default Password is admin. Please remember to change the default password.

  3. Press “Enter” and you will find the upgrade running successful. Press “Esc” to exit.

Recommended Browser

For best Realtime Dashboard experience, we recommend using Google Chrome.

Configuring Port Number

The communication requests over the Realtime Dashboard travels over a default secured Web port: 9999. If you want to change the port number:

  1. Stop the “RealTimeDashboard Service" From Windows Services.
  2. Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\3VR\RealtimeDashboard folder path.
  3. Open the RealTimePeopleCounting.exe.config file and edit the port key value to the value that you want to set.
  4. Save the file and restart the RealTimeDashboard Service.

    Access the Realtime Dashboard with the new port number. For example: http://<MachineIP>:<New Port Number>

Administration

The Administration tab in the Realtime Dashboard allows the Admin user to view, add, and manage user profile creation, counter group configuration and counter group administration.

Counter Group Administration

The Counter Group Administration allows to add, configure, and manage multiple people counters under single group name.

Note

Currently, the Realtime Dashboard supports only external people counters that are placed at each Group name location.

Adding Counter Group

To Add a counter group:

Like Adding Counter Group, Edit and Delete actions can be performed on Group name, Location, and Maximum Occupancy fields.

Counter Administration

The Counter Administration allows to add, manage, and configure single or multiple counters to a counter group with IP Address, model and location details.

Adding Counter Configuration

To add counter configuration:

Under specific conditions, if the event is not received from 3VR VMS, check if the Realtime counter configuration Gate name and People Counter Gate name are the same for APS counter model that you have chosen. Refer to Appendix B for more details.

Disabling the Enable checkbox causes the people counter not processing the people count.

The newly added Counter Group Name displays as shown in the Figure.

The people counter group name data is the summation of the sensors that are placed at each group name. For example, if a group name with Video includes three people counter sensors, the data that is received from this group name or section is the sum of three people counter sensors.

Tip

Like Adding Counters, Edit and Delete actions can be performed on Counter IP Address, Counter Model, Gate Location, and Group name fields.

Counter Settings

The Settings sub-tab allows the user to configure the 3VR VMS System IP Address and 3VR VMS System Time Zone for specific store working hours.

The user must not change other fields in the counter settings.

The 3VR VMS Time Zone must be same as the 3VR VMS IP Time Zone. The time zone is required for proper user subscription and data exchange from 3VR VMS to the Realtime Dashboard.

User Administration

The User Administration sub-tab allows to add and manage users logging into Realtime Dashboard System.

Adding Users

To add Realtime Dashboard users:

  1. Login to Realtime Dashboard. Select Administration -> User Administration.
  2. Click Add. The Add window displays.
  3. Enter the User Name.
  4. Enter a Password and Repeat Password.

Enabling Secure Socket Layer (SSL) for Realtime Dashboard

To enable SSL for Realtime Dashboard stop the “RealTimeDashboard Service” and follow the steps:

  1. Generate the certificate from the trusted certificate authority such as CA , Verisign, etc.,
  2. Import the certificate where “RealTimeDashboard” is installed.
  3. Using the netsh command, type netsh http add urlacl url=https://+: [Your Port Number]/ user="Everyone" to add a URL reservation for the specified URL namespace.
  4. Type netsh http add sslcert ipport=0.0.0.0: [Your Port Number]/ certhash= [Your Key HashCode] appid={cc3adbca-2baf-46d6-96f3-5438dfe2189e}

Replace the corresponding values such as Port Number and Certhash (Thumbprint of the Certificate)

For example,

  • netsh http add urlacl url=https://+:9999/ user="Everyone"
  • netsh http add sslcert ipport=0.0.0.0:9999 certhash=0a7f9324b5b3103cecb9d2db63df347647ba4043 appid={cc3adbca-2baf-46d6-96f3-5438dfe2189e}
  1. Restart the RealTimeDashboard service.
  2. Install the client certificates.
  3. In the application configuration file located at “C:\Program Files (x86)\3VR\RealtimeDashboard” open the “exe.config” and change the “EnableSSL” key value to true

Restart the RealTimeDashboard services and try to access the application with https://<MachineIP>:<PortNumber>

Auto Resetting the Counters

To reset the counters automatically at the periodic time, follow the below procedures.

  1. Stop RealTimeDashboard
  2. In the application configuration file located at “C:\Program Files(x86)\3VR\RealtimeDashboard” open the “exe.config and change “ResetCounters” key value to true.
  3. Edit the value of “CronJob" Key to specified time you want to reset.

For example, if the default value everyday 12.00 am it will reset the counters. If you want to change the value generate the cron expression and replace it here. Refer http://www.cronmaker.com/ to build cron expressions. After you are done, restart the RealTimeDashboard Services.

Starting the Real-Time Dashboard Application

Open Google Chrome Browser and type https://localhost:9999/ and hit enter. The 3VR Live Occupancy Dashboard window.

Note

If you want to access Realtime Dashboard installed in another system. You need to enter the IP of the machine you are accessing, for example https:// 10.151.31.120:9999. Refer Adding Exceptions to your Firewall if you face trouble.



Resetting People Count


Under certain conditions, the people count may show inconsistent data or sometime negative value when the store visitors by pass the people counter sensors.

If you are unable to access the Realtime Dashboard from another system within your premises, except localhost, then you can add Port Exceptions and Program Exceptions to the Windows Firewall by following the below steps:

Adding Port Exceptions to Windows Firewall in Windows 10

  1. Right-click the Windows Start button and select Control Panel.
  2. Click Windows Firewall.
  3. Click Advanced Settings.
  4. Click Inbound Rules, then New Rule.
  5. Select Port for the Rule Type, then click Next.
  6. Select TCP for Does this rule apply to TCP or UDP.
  7. Select Specific local ports, and enter the TCP port to allow, then click Next.
  8. Ensure Allow the connection is selected, then click Next.
  9. Select When to apply the rule (Domain, Private, or Public), then click Next.
  10. Enter a Name and optional Description, then click Finish.

Adding Program Exceptions to Windows Firewall in Windows 10

  1. Right-click the Windows Start button and select Control Panel.
  2. Click Windows Firewall.
  3. Click Advanced Settings.
  4. Click Inbound Rules, then New Rule.
  5. Select Program from the Rule Type window, then click Next.
  6. Click Browse below This program path to select the program executable file, then click Next.
