Assigning IP Address

  1. By default, EG2 uses DHCP addresses. To configure Static IP, use the Type dropdown button and Select STATIC type and fill in the corresponding IP addresses:

Assigning Velocity SMB Server Address

  1. EG2 can connect to a primary and a secondary Velocity SMB server. Velocity SMB server addresses can either be IP addresses or DNS names. To configure Velocity SMB address(s) fill out the two Server IP fields.

Enabling TLS connection to Velocity SMB Server

Setting Up Master Bridge (release 1.1 and above)

  1. Master Bridge(s)Velocity SMB Administrators can designate one or more EG2s in the fleet as “Master Bridge(s)”. A Master bridge facilitates global I/O access to the rest of the “Member” bridges.*note: it is highly recommended that Master Bridge(s) use static IP’s.

  2. Member Bridge(s)“Member” bridges need to know the IP address(s) of “Master” bridges so as to forward Global I/O requests to the whole EG2 network. To configure Master Bridge Host IP, uncheck Master Bridge checkbox and enter IP:

NTP Configuration

  1. EG2 is able to use NTP to sync its system clock. To configure NTP, enter the NTP server’s address and check “enabled.” By default, the NTP server address is pool.ntp.org.*note: for NTP to work, please make sure a legitimate Name Server is configured on the EG2.

Installing TLS Certificate

  1. After the TCP connection is established between the Velocity SMB server and the EG2, we need to install the Velocity SMB CA certificate and the client certificate on the EG2 by clicking the “Install Certificate” button. The client certificate, together with the Velocity SMB CA certificate, is used for the MQTT authentication.
