How To: Configure Named Pipes and TCP/IP Protocols in the SQL Server Configuration Manager
The SQL Server Network Configuration node of the SQL Server Configuration Manager allows configuring Named Pipes and TCP/IP after installing Velocity.
Named Pipes may provide marginally faster inter-process communication in some environments.
To configure Named Pipes and TCP/IP, perform the steps in this procedure:
Select Start and from the list of programs, select SQL Server Configuration Manager in Microsoft SQL Server 2019
In the SQL Server Configuration Manager screen, select SQL Server Network Configuration > Protocols for HIRSCH
Double click or right-click Named Pipes under Protocol Name, click Enable
Double click or right-click TCP/IP. The TCP/IP Properties screen appears.
Goto IP Addresses tab. Scroll to the bottom to enter the TCP Port number 1433.
Click Apply and then OK for the changes to take place
