Scan and Detect IDENTIV EG-2s (Model FR-50-40-SB) in the Network

  1. In System->Devices, check “Device Discovery Tool” checkbox

  2. Click the IDENTIV EG-2 (Model FR-50-40-SB) Devices tab

  3. Click “Scan Devices” button. All IDENTIV EG-2s (Model FR-50-40-SB) in the network will appear in the data table.

  4. To configure IDENTIV EG-2 (Model FR-50-40-SB), click the ID/Mac address of the unit:

This Configuration screen will display the software version, OS, Application, and Model number details of the IDENTIV EG-2 (FR-40-50-SB).

Assigning IP Address

  1. By default, IDENTIV EG-2 (Model FR-50-40-SB) uses DHCP addresses. To configure Static IP, use the Type dropdown button Select STATIC type and fill in the corresponding IP addresses:

Assigning PRIMIS Server Address

  1. IDENTIV EG-2 (Model FR-50-40-SB) can connect to a primary and a secondary PRIMIS server. PRIMIS server addresses can either be IP addresses or DNS names. To configure PRIMIS server address(s) fill out the two Server IP fields.

Enabling TLS connection to PRIMIS Server

  1. To enable a secured TLS connection to the PRIMIS server, check the TLS enabled checkbox on the configuration page:

Setting Up Lead EG-2 (release 1.1 and above)

  1. Lead Bridge(s)PRIMIS Administrators can designate one or more IDENTIV EG-2 (Model FR-50-40-SB)s in the fleet as “Lead Bridge(s)”. A Lead bridge facilitates global I/O access to the rest of the “Member” bridges.*note: it is highly recommended that Lead Bridge(s) use static IP’s.

  2. Member Bridge(s)“Member” bridges need to know the IP address(s) of “Lead” bridges so as to forward Global I/O requests to the whole IDENTIV EG-2 (Model FR-50-40-SB) network. To configure Lead Bridge Host IP, uncheck Lead Bridge checkbox and enter IP:

NTP Configuration

  1. IDENTIV EG-2 (Model FR-50-40-SB) is able to use NTP to sync its system clock. To configure NTP, enter the NTP server’s address and check “enabled.” By default, the NTP server address is pool.ntp.org.*note: for NTP to work, please make sure a legitimate Name Server is configured on the IDENTIV EG-2 (Model FR-50-40-SB).

Installing TLS Certificate

  1. After the TCP connection is established between the PRIMIS server and the IDENTIV EG-2 (Model FR-50-40-SB), we need to install the PRIMIS CA certificate and the client certificate on the IDENTIV EG-2 (Model FR-50-40-SB) by clicking the “Install Certificate” button. The client certificate, together with the PRIMIS CA certificate, is used for the MQTT authentication.

IDENTIV EG-2 (Model FR-50-40-SB) Configuration on Multi-Principal Spoke Database Server

If the server is configured as a multi-principal spoke database server, the following additional steps are required before the IDENTIV EG-2 (Model FR-50-40-SB) can be configured.

  1. Go to System->Utilities->Server Activation.

  2. Enter the configuration for the Enterprise License Server and click “Update” to update the license server information.

  3. Go to System->IDENTIV EG-2 (Model 50-40-SB) Devices.

  4. Click the “Install Server Certificate” button to install the server certificate from the Enterprise License Server.

IDENTIV EG-2 (Model FR-50-40-SB) Configuration on the Replica Database Server

If the server is configured as a replica database server, the following additional steps are required before the IDENTIV EG-2 (Model FR-50-40-SB)s can be configured.

  1. Go to System->Utilities->Server Activation.

  2. Enter the configuration for the Root CA Server and click “Update” to update the license server information.

  3. Go to System->IDENTIV EG-2 (Model FR-50-40-SB) Devices.

  4. Click the “Install Server Certificate” button to install the server certificate from the Enterprise License Server.

Enrolling IDENTIV EG-2 (Model FR-50-40-SB) Device in PRIMIS Server

  1. In System->Devices, check “Device Discovery Tool” checkbox

  2. Click IDENTIV EG-2 (Model FR-50-40-SB) Devices tab

  3. To enroll an IDENTIV EG-2 (Model FR-50-40-SB) Device, click the Import button.

  4. On the next page, enter the device’s name and click Save.

  5. The IDENTIV EG-2 (Model FR-50-40-SB) Device is now enrolled into PRIMIS Server. Administrators can now assign the device to Controlled Areas.

Managing IDENTIV EG-2 (Model FR-50-40-SB) Devices

  1. Goto System-> IDENTIV EG-2 (Model 50-40-SB) Devices

  2. Under Actions, there are a few control buttons to manage, troubleshoot, and update IDENTIV EG-2 (Model FR-50-40-SB) devices:

View Device Logs

Ping/Identify IDENTIV EG-2 (Model FR-50-40-SB) Device. Status LED on the device will alternately flash red, green and blue for 30 seconds.

Managing Sync schedules

IDENTIV EG-2 (Model FR-50-40-SB) device is able to synchronize its onboard database with the PRIMIS server as frequently as every hour. This onboard database allows IDENTIV EG-2s (Model FR-50-40-SB) to function independently during PRIMIS server outages or network failures. To assign sync schedules, simply click the corresponding checkbox under Device Sync Schedule.

Managing Application and OS Images

PRIMIS Server can store IDENTIV EG-2 (Model FR-50-40-SB) Applications and OS images for updates.

  1. To upload the Application Image, Click the “App” tab under TRN. Click “Choose File”, select the image (*.strn) file, and click [ + ] to upload.

  2. To delete the image file, click the [ x ] button for the image.

  3. To upload OS Image, first, click the “OS” tab under TRN. Click “Choose File”, select the image (*.strn) file, and click [ + ] to upload.
