Setting Up Master Bridge (release 1.1 and above)
Master Bridge(s)Freedom Administrators can designate one or more Smart Bridges in the fleet as “Master Bridge(s)”. A Master bridge facilitates global I/O access to the rest of the “Member” bridges.*note: it is highly recommended that Master Bridge(s) use static IP’s.
Member Bridge(s)“Member” bridges need to know the IP address(s) of “Master” bridges so as to forward Global I/O requests to the whole Smart Bridge network. To configure Master Bridge Host IP, uncheck Master Bridge checkbox and enter IP:
NTP Configuration
Smart Bridge is able to use NTP to sync its system clock. To configure NTP, enter the NTP server’s address and check “enabled”. By default the NTP server address is pool.ntp.org.*note: for NTP to work, please make sure a legitimate Name Server is configured on the Smart Bridge.
Installing TLS Certificate
After the TCP connection is established between the Freedom server and the Smart Bridge, we need to install the Freedom CA certificate and the client certificate on the Smart Bridge by clicking the “Install Certificate” button. The client certificate together with the Freedom CA certificate are used for the MQTT authentication.
