The Velocity VVAC plugin in Velocity Vision Management handles two-way communication with Velocity Server. The plugin’s configuration is done at the Velocity Vision Management Client, while the Velocity Vision Client application takes the presentation of presents events, alarms, doors, lock status, and cardholder details.

Prerequisite

To have a complete setup of the plugin up and running, the following are mandatory:

  • Velocity application

  • Velocity SDK license

  • VelocityVVAC Plugin Installer

  • Velocity Vision with Access Control Door License

The license information on the Management Client displays the number of licenses obtained and activated for the access control doors.

Installing the Identiv Velocity Vision Plugin

On the system that hosts the Velocity Vision Management Client:

  1. Run the VelocityVVAC Plugin Installer Setup.

    If the user already has the SDK license applied,

VelocityVVAC Plugin Configuration

Suppose the system that hosts the Velocity Server is independent of the Management Client. In that case, a connection should be established to communicate and fetch events from the server to the client.

To establish a connection to the Velocity Server after installing the VelocityVVAC Plugin:

  1. Use the Run window to start Windows services (services. msc).

  2. Stop the “Identiv Velocity Vision Event Server service.”

  3. Right-click to select properties and click the Log On tab.

  4. Enter the Velocity Administrator user name in the “This account” field, followed by the Password and Confirm password, and click OK.

  5. Now start the Identiv Velocity Vision Event Server service.
    The management client is ready to receive predefined events from Velocity Server.

If you upgrade Velocity Vision, please ensure that the Event Server service is running under the same domain user account as it was previously running.

Mapping Velocity Vision Workstation Name in Velocity

Adding Workstations

  1. Locate the device name of the system where the Velocity Vision is installed. An example of its type is shown:

  2. Login to Velocity as Administrator and expand the Velocity Configuration folder in the Administration Window.

    The Add New Workstation option appears in the Components pane.

  2. Select Create New to create a new integration.

Configuring General Settings Tab in Access Control

Configuring Access Control Events

The Access Control Events tab Lists the access control events captured from the access control system. It allows classifying access control events into specific event categories.

To configure and categorize the access control events:

  1. Select Access Control in Site Navigation.

  2. Click the established connection in the Access Control pane.

  3. Select the Access Control Events tab.

  4. The available access control events with their configured Event Category are displayed below.

It is recommended that the user should not make any changes to keep the Event Category section the same.

Cardholders Tab

The cardholders tab allows viewing cardholder names and photos synchronized with the Velocity server.

The Refresh Configuration… button in the General Settings tab in Step 4 should be clicked each time a new cardholder is added in Velocity to reflect the changes.

Velocity Vision Client

The Velocity Vision Client allows you to view live video, playback recorded videos, detect alarms from the access control door, and check events after successfully integrating the Velocity access control panel (add the new plugin name here) with the Velocity Vision.

  1. Login to Velocity Vision Client with your credentials. Click Connect.

  2. Goto Access Control tab → click on Events to view the event list. The list displays the event time, the cardholder’s portrait, and video from the associated camera.

  3. Select a door to perform the Lock, Unlock, or Momentary unlock actions. The Doors tab displays the door status and relay lock status.

  4. The Access Control → Cardholders tab displays the user name and type.

  5. Select the cardholder’s name to display their photo.
    Any changes at the Velocity Server in the cardholder photo will reflect in the Access Cardholders tab.

Configuring Alarm Definition

The Alarm Definition in Velocity Vision Management should be configured to receive alarms inside the Velocity Vision.

To configure alarm definition:

  1. Click Alarm → Alarm Definition in Site Navigation. Right-click Alarm Definition → Add New.

  3. Enter the Alarm Name. Choose “Access Control Event Categories” in Triggering Event.

  4. Select the optional Related map drop-down to associate with the alarm definition name.
