Sending 3VR Alerts to C•CURE

This section discusses the passing of 3VR Events with Alerts to the C•CURE system.

About Alert Watch

The Alert Watch is designed to watch for 3VR Events with Alerts and bring that functionality into the C•CURE application. When a 3VR Event with an Alert that is monitored by an active Alert Watch occurs, a C•CURE Journal Message will be created with the format:

3VR Alert ([alert name]) occurred on Appliance ‘[VMS server name]’, Camera ‘[camera name]’.

In addition, whenever the C•CURE integration receives notification from an Alert Watch, it will activate any video camera alarms of type Analytics that have been established for the corresponding camera.

Editing an Existing Alert Watch

Use the following steps to view and/or edit the settings of an existing Alert Watch.

  1. Select the 3VR tab.

  2. Click the plus sign to the left of the VMS server name to display the VMS server’s existing Alert Watches.

  3. Double-click the Alert Watch (or right-click and select Edit) to open it for editing.

Editing Alert Watch Settings

  1. Name – The name of the Alert Watch.

  2. Description – A description of the Alert Watch.

  3. Enabled – This enables or disables the Alert Watch.

  4. Appliance – The 3VR VMS server on which to watch for an alert with the Alert name specified in (e).

  5. Alert – This is the name of the 3VR alert to watch. Whenever a 3VR alert with this name occurs on the 3VR VMS server selected in the previous field, the Alert Watch will write to the C•CURE Journal. In addition, if there is an Analytics Alarm configured on the 3VR camera on which the alert occurred, the analytics alarm will also be triggered.

  6. Save and Close – Saves your changes and closes the dialog.

Verifying Successful Alert Watch Configuration

Use the following steps to verify that the Alert Watch has been correctly configured:

  1. Configure a test alert in 3VR OpCenter. This should be an alert that is easily triggered (e.g. create an alert for any motion on a camera that is physically accessible to you).

  2. Configure an Alert Watch for the test alert as outlined in Installing 3VR Integration Software on C•CURE.

  3. Trigger the alert (e.g., walk in front of the camera selected in step 1).

  4. Open the OpCenter Monitor panel and verify that an Alert Event was created by your test.

  5. In C•CURE Administration Workstation, click the Options & Tools tab.

  6. Select Journal and click Run.

  7. In the Dynamic View - Journal View window, verify that a “3VR Alert” journal message appears for the Alert Event generated by your test.
