The Velocity VVAC plugin in Velocity Vision Management handles two-way communication with Velocity Server. The configuration of the plugin is done at the Velocity Vision Management Client, while the Velocity Vision Client application handles the presentation of events, alarms, doors, lock status, and cardholder details.

Prerequisite

To have a complete setup of the plugin up and running, the following are mandatory:

  • Velocity application

  • Velocity SDK license

  • VelocityVVAC Plugin Installer

  • Velocity Vision with Access Control Door License

Licensing

The license information on the Management Client displays the number of licenses obtained and activated for the access control doors.

Installing the Identiv Velocity Vision Plugin

On the system that hosts the Velocity Vision Management Client:

  1. Run the VelocityVVAC Plugin Installer Setup.

  2. Follow the simple on-screen instructions to install the plugin.

    If the user already has the SDK license applied, then a pop-up message to update the license appears.

  3. If no SDK license is installed then select the location of the valid velocity SDK license and a dialog appears as shown.

  4. Click Open to select a valid SDK license file.txt and the license is applied.
    If a valid SDK license file is not selected, then a dialog box keeps appearing until a valid SDK license is select.

  5. Click Close to exit.

VelocityVVAC Plugin Configuration

If the system that hosts the Velocity Server is independent of the Management Client, then a connection should be established to communicate and fetch events from the server to the client.

If you upgrade Velocity Vision, make sure that the Event Server service is running under the same domain user account as previously it was running.

Mapping Velocity Vision Workstation Name in Velocity

Adding Workstations

  1. Locate the device name of the system where the Velocity Vision is installed. An example of its type is shown:

  2. Login to Velocity as Administrator and in the Administration Window, expand the Velocity Configuration folder.

    The Add New Workstation option appears in the Components pane.

  3. Double-click the Add New Workstation option.

    The Add New Workstation dialog appears:

  4. In the 'Workstation Name' text field, enter the new name for this workstation and click OK.

  5. The new workstation appears in the Components pane.

Configuring General Settings Tab in Access Control

The general settings tab looks like the below one.

  1. Make sure the Enable is checked. By default, this checkbox is enabled.

  2. Click the Refresh Configurationbutton when you need to reflect configuration changes made in the access control system in Velocity Vision, for example, if you have added or deleted a door.
    A summary of the configuration changes from the access control system appears. Review the list to ensure that your access control system is reflected correctly before you apply the new configuration.

Configuring Access Control Events

The Access Control Events tab Lists the access control events captured from the access control system. It allows classifying access control events into specific event categories.

Cardholders Tab

The cardholders tab allows viewing cardholder names and photos that are synchronized with the Velocity server.

The Refresh Configuration… button in the General Settings tab in Step 4 should be clicked each time when a new cardholder is added in Velocity to reflect the changes.

Velocity Vision Client

The Velocity Vision Client allows to view live video, playback recorded videos, detect alarm from the access control door, and check events after successful integration of the Velocity access control panel (add the new plugin name here) with the Velocity Vision.

  1. Login to Velocity Vision Client with your credentials. Click Connect.

  2. Goto Access Control tab → click on Events to view the event list. The list displays the event time, the card holder’s portrait, and video from the associated camera.

  3. Select a door to perform the Lock, Unlock or Momentary unlock type of actions. The Doors tab displays the door status and relay lock status.

  4. The Access Control → Cardholders tab displays the user name and type.

  5. Select the cardholder’s name to display their photo.
    Any changes at the Velocity Server in cardholder photo will reflect in Access Cardholders tab.

Configuring Alarm Definition

The Alarm Definition in Velocity Vision Management should be configured in order to receive alarms inside the Velocity Vision.
