The Velocity VVAC plugin in Velocity Vision Management handles two-way communication with Velocity Server. The plugin’s configuration of the plugin is done at the Velocity Vision Management Client, while the Velocity Vision Client application handles takes the presentation of events, alarms, doors, lock status, and cardholder details.

  5. Click Close to exit.

VelocityVVAC Plugin Configuration

If Suppose the system that hosts the Velocity Server is independent of the Management Client. In that case, then a connection should be established to communicate and fetch events from the server to the client.

  1. Use the Run window to start Windows services (services. msc).

  2. Stop the “Identiv Velocity Vision Event Server service”service.

  3. Right-click to select properties and click Log On tab.

  4. Enter the Velocity Administrator user name in the “This account” field followed by the Password and Confirm password and click OK.

  5. Now start the Identiv Velocity Vision Event Server service.
    The management client is ready to receive predefined events from Velocity Server.

If you upgrade Velocity Vision, make sure ensure that the Event Server service is running under the same domain user account as previously it was previously running.

Mapping Velocity Vision Workstation Name in Velocity

  1. Locate the device name of the system where the Velocity Vision is installed. An example of its type is shown:

  2. Login to Velocity as Administrator and in the Administration Window, expand the Velocity Configuration folder in the Administration Window.

    The Add New Workstation option appears in the Components pane.

  3. Double-click the Add New Workstation option.

    The Add New Workstation dialog appears:

  4. In the 'Workstation Name' text field, enter the new name for this workstation and click OK.

  1. Right-click Access Control.

  2. Select Create New to create a new integration.

  3. A dialog box appears.

  4. In the Create access control system integration dialog box:

    1. Enter a name for your access control system in the Name field.

    2. Select the integration plug-in type as VelocityVVAC Plugin from the drop-down and click Next.
      The dialog box refreshes to display other fields.

    3. Enter the Velocity database server name.

    4. Select Next.
      The Create Access Control System Integration dialog box appears with shows the collected door and other entity details.

  5. Click Next.
    The “Create Access Control System Integration” dialog display the doors and the cameras that can be associated.

  6. In the Associate Cameras window, drill down to the Cameras: section on your right pane, as shown below.

    1. Select a camera and drag it to an access point for each Door onto your left. In this way, it is possible to associate cameras with the door of the access control system door.

    2. Click Next.

  7. After successful integration, a screen like the one below displays. Click , click Close to finish.

Right-click to restart the Identiv Velocity Vision Event Server service located on the bottom right icon tray of the window after any changes are made, as shown.

Configuring General Settings Tab in Access Control

  1. Select Access Control in Site Navigation.

  2. Click the established connection in the Access Control pane.

  3. Select Access Control Events tab.

  4. The list of available access control events with their configured Event Category is are displayed as shown below.

It is recommended that the user should not make any changes to the Event Category section.

The cardholders tab allows viewing cardholder names and photos that are synchronized with the Velocity server.

The Refresh Configuration… button in the General Settings tab in Step 4 should be clicked each time when a new cardholder is added in Velocity to reflect the changes.

The Velocity Vision Client allows you to view live video, playback recorded videos, detect alarm alarms from the access control door, and check events after successful integration of successfully integrating the Velocity access control panel (add the new plugin name here) with the Velocity Vision.

  1. Login to Velocity Vision Client with your credentials. Click Connect.

  2. Goto Access Control tab → click on Events to view the event list. The list displays the event time, the card holder’s cardholder’s portrait, and video from the associated camera.

  3. Select a door to perform the Lock, Unlock, or Momentary unlock type of actions. The Doors tab displays the door status and relay lock status.

  4. The Access Control → Cardholders tab displays the user name and type.

  5. Select the cardholder’s name to display their photo.
    Any changes at the Velocity Server in the cardholder photo will reflect in the Access Cardholders tab.

Configuring Alarm Definition

The Alarm Definition in Velocity Vision Management should be configured in order to receive alarms inside the Velocity Vision.

  1. Click Alarm → Alarm Definition in Site Navigation. Right-click Alarm Definition → Add New.

  2. The Alarm Definition Information page displays.

  3. Enter the Alarm Name. Choose “Access Control Event Categories” in Triggering Event.

  4. Select the optional Related map drop-down to associate with the alarm definition name.

  5. Click "Select..." to open the Select Related Cameras dialog as shown.

  6. Select an added camera in the list and click "Add" to add the selected camera to the right panel, click "OK" to save the selection, and close the dialog.

  7. Click the Save icon above the site navigation to add the alarm definition.
