  1. To go to the Search panel, click the Search tab.

  2. Define the dates, days of the week, and time ranges to search for events.

  3. Under Cameras, select one or more cameras bound to the Advanced Object Tracking plug-in.

  4. Under Events, check the box next to [√]Advanced Object to search for events generated by the Advanced Object Tracking plug-in.

  5. The following options are available when searching for Advanced Object events:

    1. Select () All Advanced Object to search for all objects captured during the specified time range.

    2. To restrict the search further, select () Specify. The following options are available to search for specific objects:

      1. [] Color: Click and drag to highlight one or more shades. The colors selected must be adjacent. Note that the ends of the color selection tool wrap around.

      2. [] Direction: Search for objects moving in a specific direction.

      3. [] Zone: Draw a zone to search for objects traveling through the zone.

    3. Click the video player to begin drawing a zone. Each click of the mouse will create a new line segment. To complete the
      polygon, click the mouse over your start position.

      1. [] Size: Choose the object size relative to the field of view to search for.

      2. [] Aspect Ratio: Choose the approximate aspect ratio of the object to search for.

      3. [] Duration: Restrict your search results to object events falling within a minimum and maximum duration.

  6. When you are finished defining the criteria for the search, click the Search button.

  7. Advanced Object events matching your criteria will be displayed in the Search panel results screen.

  8. Select an event card to view the video clip and details associated with the event.

  1. Under Events, check the box next to [ ]Advanced Object to search for events generated by the Advanced Object Tracking plug-in.

  2. Click ()Specify.

  3. Change the (•)Sort Results By radio button to ()Similarity.

  4. Modify the ()Specify search options as desired. The following options will produce meaningful results when sorting by similarity:

    Sorts matching objects by color. returns closest color match first.

  • []Zone
    Sorts objects by time spent in the zone. Returns longest visitor first.

  • []Direction Sorts objects by time spent traveling in the selected direction. Returns longest traveler first.

  1. To go to the Alerts panel, click the Alerts tab.

  2. To create a new alert, click New.
    In the alert editing screen, define the criteria for the alert:

  3. Type a name for the alert.

  4. Select a color for the alert. The color will be displayed on event cards that trigger the alert.

  5. Specify the day of the week and hours that the alert should be active.

  6. Under Cameras, select a camera associated with the Advanced Object Tracking plug-in.

  7. Check the boxes next to one or more alert Actions to carry out when the alert is triggered.

  8. If desired, type an alert response procedure. This text will be included with the alert and posted on events
    that trigger the alert.

  9. Under Events, check []Advanced Object.
    The following options are available when alerting for Advanced Object events:

    • Select () All Advanced Object to generate an alert for all objects captured during the specified time range.

    • To create an alert for specific objects, select ()Specify. The options under ()Specify are identical to the
      event selector in the Search panel. Please refer to the previous section for more information.

  10. When you are finished defining the criteria for the alert, click the Save button.

  11. The alert will be added to the list of alerts displayed in the main view of the Alerts panel. Click the check box next to the alert to enable it.
